If you're reading this right now, there is a good chance that you have been searching for ways to make changes in your life.

Most people have tried many different paths in their search for answers but to no avail. I often learn that clients consider psychotherapy only as a last resort. In my opinion, one of the best metaphors to help normalize this process is described in Sheldon Kopp's book If You Meet the Buddha on the Road, Kill Him! Kopp describes therapy as a journey. People who decide to take this journey are like Pilgrims seeking things they consider valuable such as wisdom, understanding and rewards.

Despite the probability that numerous "clients" want a guide to show them the way, the relationship between client and therapist is more akin to a companion to accompany one on the search for meaning and answers. Clients are the experts on themselves, while the therapist is the expert on human behavior. It is a great privilege to accompany my clients on their individual journey. I look forward to the experience.
